TGIF hey!!! Had a beautiful surprise tonight - My daughter and her boyfriend took me out for dinner. No particular occasion, mainly just because she's got a kind, loving and thoughtful heart.
Had a hard week (wont go into details), and my daughter just wanted to surprise me. She said she thought I needed it and deserved it!
How beautiful is that!
Lifts the spirits that's for sure, that daughter of mine, just like a beautiful flower, and this one (which I snapped at lunch break today) is for her.
As you can see I've also found a fun and interesting site called "Dumpr" where you can play with certain effects to your hearts content. Love the 'museum/art gallery' option, and definitely intend to play with more, but also quite impressed by the 'lomography' effect, which I found really interesting.
Lomography deals with photoshooting using LOMO cameras. These are russian cameras which use color-intensive and blurry lenses. Nowadays, lomography is art and you are welcome to participate!
Hoping you're all having a wonderful Friday, and a great weekend.
Can't take credit for growing this one in my garden, although I do have a few rose bushes, just not pink ones, (...as yet *smiles*). Maybe later on I will add more, do more, in the backyard. Quite well aware that one can quickly be a slave to the garden, and, at this stage of my life I'm happier to stop and smell the roses while out exploring, getting some sun, air, lots of photos, and simply playing with the butterflies, whenever I can.

Deep in the heart of the Amazon, umm...err... ok.. At play in my backyard, then!
Again, I would appreciate any help as to what the name of this flower/plant is. I have no idea, but it grows over my fence (from a neighbouring yard).
Wherever possible, when taking photos from my yard, I try to take the photos at such an angle as to make it look like I'm out exploring in the amazon. Yup... Little Tom Sawyer... Backyard explorer!

A leisurely stroll, a little romance, and a dash of history.....Some snaps taken at Emu Bottom Homestead (Victoria's Oldest Homestead, see article below)...
. Emu Bottom Homestead is a tranquil historical site to browse at your leisure, one of the better picturesque backgrounds to end the visit with a romantic fully packed picnic - remember to the pack the blanket though. If unprepared, and the weather just that much cooler, a short five minute drive will take you the Art Gallery/Restaurant "The Gatehouse", the lake, Rupertswood Mansion Estate and surrounds.
The Chicken pie, salad and mash, and a glass of red - delicious, the baked lemon pie was the freshest I've ever tasted so far, and beautifully presented - along with a long black, it simply melted in the mouth! aaahhhh

Heide Museum of Modern Art and Gardens: Around every corner, was another flower, plant, interesting tree, or sculpture to photograph - an 'outdoor gallery' - an absolute proliferation of public art! Great company, a picnic, my camera - what more could a girl want! *Smiles*
These flowers were found scattered amongst the parklands of the property, growing wild. Not sure what they are yet (will need more time to do some google research), though if any one knows please feel free to drop me a message/comment.

The gardens at Heide Museum of Modern Art are as integral a part of the organisation as the artworks themselves. Heide’s sixteen acre site offers an ever-varying, tranquil environment of majestic trees, shrubs, flowering plants and paddocks that extend down over the river flats to the banks of the Yarra River. From the famous Kitchen Garden, formal perennial walks and parterre gardens to woodlands and parkland dotted with contemporary sculpture, the overall effect of Heide’s gardens is one of intimate discovery.
