I will be off-air for awhile, computer maintenance, coinciding with far too many social commitments (it never rains, but it pours).
Lets just hope it won't be xmas before I'm back.
Well, just in case.... I've made you a funky xmas card, from one of my (stock photo) snaps that I had up my sleeve. hee hee, inclusive sans "bumper sticker xmas one-liner" LOL.
Well... tis the season to be jolly you know!
Just a couple more photos to add to my "Lens, Pencil or Brush?" series. Quite like the whole concept of playing around and making ones own art from distorting photographic images. (See previous post with attached article on this subject, here>>).
Besides the fact that I don't have the talent to pick up a brush, or the time, money or materials - its also, well, just plain old fashioned fun (and a hell of a lot quicker to do to get that 'creative' fix ha ha).
Have many others that I've fiddled with but not quite ready to blog. Wouldn't say the below are the 'finished' product of any idea, just the finished 'seeds' of an idea in making.
(Below trials:) Looking very wallpaper-ish or of the print-making style when enlarged, these (modified pics) appear to resemble more the art of a brush and canvas-like-composition, than material originating from the lens.
Original stock photo (below here) was taken when at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show April 2008, another clematis.
“I was enchanted
by the escape into that meticulous world that seemed real yet not...
well, it seemed not real, but very detailed and meticulous, bizarre.”
Richard Foreman quotes
“There
is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are
brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever
again.”
Elizabeth Lawrence quotes
Have a few photo of birds in my unposted collection, but not often can I get the clarity or detail of the eyes to show, most especially when the bird is of a mostly black colouring, but where it does, I will post these.

A couple more scenic shots of the area - I may add more later when I have the time... and.....
... a couple of b/w pics from Yarra Bend Park, that I can get to add to my 'Enchanted Forest' series....
“Wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing."
and.. one of the shots that shows the Historical Studley Park Boathouse, though using it to create a funky postcard as the scene's focus is more on the geese. I really enjoy being around geese, if you haven't already gathered this yet ha ha

Can't take credit for growing this one in my garden, although I do have a few rose bushes, just not pink ones, (...as yet *smiles*). Maybe later on I will add more, do more, in the backyard. Quite well aware that one can quickly be a slave to the garden, and, at this stage of my life I'm happier to stop and smell the roses while out exploring, getting some sun, air, lots of photos, and simply playing with the butterflies, whenever I can.

Proud Display - First rose of the season to bloom in my garden.
It was a cloudy day when I took this shot, nevertheless, the sun did pop out for a second, long enough to snap it, but just can't seem to get the brightness right on the image here without losing the detail of the pic. Have fiddled long enough with it - it will just have to suffice as is.
Honey Gold - The beautiful golden colour of the bee.
Again, on the date/time this pic was taken it was a shocking cloudy part of the day. At first appearances the light looks pretty good, but unfortunately the image actually has lot most of its resolution and breaks down in quality when enlarged. I'm obviously not pushing all the right buttons, or learning the correct tips when taking photos under less than opportune circumstances. Can't wait to (eventually) have the time to attend some basic photography course.
And this one with the zig zag shadow, was taken at Southern Cross Station, Spencer St, Melbourne. I thought it would make a great Happy Halloween funky postcard.

Have had this snap in my collection - It was taken at the Heide Museum of Modern Art and Gardens:
Can't say I know very much about any area of botany (flowers included), although I am fast becoming more inquisitive in this area since September last year when I picked up the camera and began spreading my rather amateur artistic wings more frequently.
I have one possible lead though via Googling, stumbling onto a great blog "The World of Trees" (blogger that enjoys identifying tree species. The Tree World according to Dan - a blogger that lives in the South of Spain, but apparently has many Australian Trees on this site. How handy is that!!!).
So this may very well be a Persian Silk Tree (or ?Mimosa - see further blogger comments) and hoping to hear back soon (cross your fingers) to confirm this.
Meantime, if anybody does know.... well .. you know the drill. Please don't hesitate to drop me a comment.
Cheers!
Heide Museum of Modern Art and Gardens: Around every corner, was another flower, plant, interesting tree, or sculpture to photograph - an 'outdoor gallery' - an absolute proliferation of public art! Great company, a picnic, my camera - what more could a girl want! *Smiles*
