More play with Architectural Abstracts
Quite like the form and lighting of this shot, more as the 'image' rather than the reality.
Personally, I also enjoy the shot on its side just as much! Just playing around with one of those 'abstract' images to add to my collection, where I can imagine it hanging on a wall, presented solely for the image's shape and lighting, to then find the true nature of the image suprisingly revealed when viewed standing closer up. Postscript 02/02/08:
Man, his nature and place in the world
I was looking through my other posts, revising the frame on “Smart Chairs”, clicking on the link to Jeffrey Smarts artwork, when I noticed, or paid more attention this time, to this particular painting - “Holiday”, (see below).
Wow. It took me by surprise a bit, because I knew that I had posted/photographed such a similar image (as above).
Both the images (above) and the
one entitled “Smart Chairs” were taken in Adelaide,
before I got back home to Melbourne, and posted
them, and/or the link to Jeffrey Smart’s works.
Plus, his painting of “Holiday” was not in the exhibit in Adelaide. Now you all know from posting that I fell in
love with his works, at the very first glimpse of a painting of his that I came
across, but in all honesty I hadn’t seen this “Holiday” painting of his before I
took the above snaps. Kinda makes me
wonder if there is some mystical link between he and I? Perhaps he had even frequented the same place,
saw the same scene as I?. Both of us looking
in the opposite direction to that of the masses, but, enjoying, the rather more
sociological view of the fiery golden sunset and its spotlight on Man, his nature
and place in the world.
